TCXOs (aka Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillators) are the perfect choice for frequency control devices when superior frequency stability is required over a wider temperature range. Conversely, VCTCXOs exhibit similar characteristics with the added functionality of finely tuning the output frequency while varying the voltage control input. Our portfolio of TCXOs and VCTCXOs delivers excellent temperature characteristics combined with low power consumption and fast warm-up.
TCXOs feature a built-in temperature sensitive circuit in their oscillation loop to attain improved frequency stability over a wide temperature range. They can provide more stable signals at higher (and lower) temperatures than conventional oscillators. The temperature-sensitive network in the oscillator senses the ambient temperature and pulls the crystal to its nominal value. Some of our TCXO models incorporate an analog ASIC, providing a smoother signal when combined with a high-order temperature compensation circuit.
TCXOs are suitable for wireless applications in telecommunications and also have high demand in IoT, GPS, SONET and fibre channel applications.
